Anyone use AVS Video Editor?

I have some vids I'd like to edit. I'm limited because the movies are in MOD format and not everything out there can handle it.

AAF and FC are way overkill for what I need to do so I thought I'd check out AVS but wanted to know what peeps thought of the program.

    pros?
    cons?

    thanks for any opinions

If you're on a Mac, iMovie has more than enough capabilities for many editing needs.

    If not, Pinnacle is ok.

    Haven't tried AVS.

Why not just convert the files and then edit them?

When you buy the AVS video converter and I think you get the editor for free. Last week I bought the converter software to convert MOD to AVI - so I could edit them in windows movie maker. Inside the software was the full version of the AVS editor. So if your worried about price, you might want to take that into consideration.

I played around with the AVS editor today, it seems pretty powerful and looks like it has a lot of options. The one thing I really liked was that the program did not crash.

But anyway, I recommend both AVS programs, they seem like good values for the money. In fact, I have the convertor running right now converting some MOD files to AVI so I can edit and post them on youtube.

What is your need? Do you simply want to convert the MOD video? If so, what format do you need for the resulting video?

For mac os, you have iMovie and FCP or the third party software video editor for mac

For windows users: you can check Adobe premier or Adobe after Effect or AVS Video Editor or Movavi Video Editor, you can find more from wikipedia

And it is not a good idea to convert mod for editing, it will lose video quality.
