Anyone use article submission for backlinks?

Just wondering if anyone uses article submission for gaining back links. There is a place called article hut and you can submit your article with your link to 75 to 100 well page ranked sites....
Does anyone use and if so did it help with PR?

I do use to submit article for gaining back links, but i submitted it manually in every article site i know! Article submission helps a lot to gain back links and rank your keywords!

 

it does help; there are plenty of articles' sites, don't just stick to one.

Do the articles(and of course your links) stay there permenently?
Or do you have to re submit every now and then

Some article directories will take down old articles but most of your articles should be online for most of the time. And yes, submitting articles is a great way to build links

 

I have used this before on sitepoint. Got what I paid for. Paid next to nothing and got nothing at all in terms of hits or SEO.

 

There is a free extension for firefox called fireform that makes the submitting of anything much easier. I've been using it for a week for directory submissions. It should work for article directories also, I would think. Makes lists like this one look much shorter.

 

Fireform is nice but I prefer Roboform, which I use. The full version isn't free but it's pretty awesome

 

I've personally used articlemarketer (http://www.articlemarketer.com) before with extremely positive results. I wrote a lot of articles when I first launched my personal website and it gained me about 100 decent links and few extremely good links.

 

Best thing about article submissions is that you can have almost anything in the anchor text .

You can't do that with directory submissions or link building (usually).

 

Article submission works great as part of a wider SEO strategy.

i agree with mad4...i use to submit articles for backlinks and traffic...here's a site with Article Directories...it is subdivided into popular, high traffic, established and new article directories...

 

that one of the way to gain link and to gain traffic... it really helps...

 

We do article and press release marketing on a routine basis. As usual it takes quite a while for Google to pick up the back links, but Yahoo seems to pick them up within days. Make sure you use your keywords in the anchor text and check out Internet Marketing Auto Pilot.

 

I never use them. I've had a few people submit things to my site though (religion and spirituality only).

 

i believe article submission is one of the cheapest way to build links. Theres a lot of free article submission site out there. I compiled a lists of directories i oftent submit my articles to, check out http://web-directory.linkchannels.com/Internet/Article_Directories/. Its sorted by PageRank.

 

I do when i have a good article i know sites will pick up on. Good goes get me over 500 backlinks for $2

 

I think it is stupid to manualy submit your article to 100 article sites. Submit to just few of them (isnare and goarticles, perhaps).
