I have heard good and bad things about it. Although I do not see in the adsense area where you can add it to your rss feed.
Could you not use a feed from your site (say news page) which is impregnated with google ads to drive a menu or ticker-tape news feed on the same site... thus having paying adSense links in your menu/ticker that are not branded "ads by google" ?
Sounds like it is a possibility. I have not played with the Adsense for RSS stuff, so I have no idea what it looks like.
well I tried to look at the "set of best practices" but I got "Sorry, The document you have requested is not available." Sure they would not allow you to use it to get past the "ads by Google" Who here uses RSS feeds anyways? What do your users use to view them?
Apparently G just has this in beta right now, but from what I have read it seems as a lot of visitors are not too happy about seeing ads in their feeds. Something that would be hard to control if one put ads in their feeds is if a service like RssFwd gets your feed, it strips the ads out of it, along with all the other formatting. (It uses Ruby on Rails to do this.) So, people could modify your content by removing the ads, which sucks. Another thing that makes me uncomfortable about ads in my feeds are the TOS that G has for this. They are very ambiguous. It comes across that we, the publishers, are responsible for whatever people do with our feeds. reference: http://rails.yanime.org/rssfwd/ http://www.askdavetaylor.com/google_has_adsense_for_rss_any_risks.html http://www.intuitive.com/blog/ads_in_rss_feeds_corrupting_the_idea_of_information_syndication.html
