I have seen that almost everyone here is talking about online marketing, leads and traffic. So is there anyone left who still believes in offline marketing methods? Someone who still does direct mail marketing, postcards and flyers etc? I recently had a talk with a person from Troi Mailing Services in Toronto who said that offline marketing are still producing leads. Apparently they still have regular customers and the number is increasing which means that they are still takers for these. So what do the people here think of offline marketing? Is it fruitful or a total waste of time and money? Share your views here.
I earned around $20k pure profit from doing "hybrid" marketing. I created a websites for businesses that has old outdated websites (I did it before I contacted them). After creating I called them or visited them with tablet and nice shirt, and I sold more than 60% of created sites... and I recycled the rest of them. So yes... of course this works
This year, I have run telemarketing campaigns, direct mail campaigns, PR, Lunch & Learn events, trade show booths, and a few other things that I am likely forgetting right now. Heck, I had an intern program where I had young college kids physically walking into businesses for the purposes of getting the right contact for B2B solutions. I also tried radio ads for the first time for B2B and they were disappointing. Does offline marketing work?: absolutely, and by the way, there is much, much more offline marketing and sales being done than online marketing in the B2B world.
Offline is very much part of the marketing mix of both B2B and B2C marketers. A hybrid approach with the right mix and match of different online and offline media is what works best. Apart from traditional offline media like print, TV, tradeshows, etc., businesses are also doing automated interactive voice campaigns using speech recognition technology. Although we like to think that almost the whole world has gone online, the truth is that a large portion is actually still not online and there are media dark areas.
Very smart idea mate...though for me I had to run my offline company online....for the past 15 years, I have lived in Countries that I either didn't speak the language, were "developing Countries" or I was just a foreigner. That would make for a great case study product...actually you could still do it online, just create the site, send them link with the sales letter and you would be sure to get clients. Can I ask you what platform you used and did you buy domains for each or just a very general domain and use sub domains??
Offline marketing still works, but I believe it needs to keep up with technology like everything else. There's a new digital business card app that just launched called KnoMii. It provides a lot more information about a person or business such as a bio, photo and video portfolios, social media integration, and more. The way KnoMii was designed to be shared is really what makes it such a great marketing tool imo. The card can be shared from any smartphone by anyone, there's no special software or network membership required. KnoMii gets sent as a text or email making it easy for people to share information about you and your business, which is great for referral leads. This website of mine explains more about KnoMii and there's a 14-day trial if you want to check it out: http://knomedia.net/ If you have any questions let me know.
I've been tossing around the idea of doing some CPA + flyers stuff and pass them around town but I've yet to do it yet.
Of course off line marketing still works, it might not be as lucrative as before but it is still working. In fact you can read about Mercedes Benz marketing for M class in USA and how they could sell two years worth of cars in 6 months before even production was there. You gotta have a balance of online and off line together and definitely looking at your target audience.
Offline marketing is still consider as an effective promotion for product and services but it will requires hard working and consistent effort to deliver in the targeted users.
I was really surprised with the success we had when we advertised our business using flyers. We were sure that our blog and Facebook will produce more leads, but that wasn't the case. We are planning another round of passing flyers in September.
