Installed a Ref 2.0 ad block on a cookery site that had crappy normal adsense ads & a tiny CTR -- I'll see if it makes any difference.
I like the sound of this purely from a 'stick with one or two companies for advertising' standpoint, rather than payouts from tons of different sources. It isn't on my account yet by the looks of it. I can't wait to try it out. I just hope it will convert better than CJ usually does for me.
Actually, the Adsense team told me it was only available for well endowed men I've been using it for 3 or 4 days myself and had a fair few clicks. Not earned a penny from it yet though but I'm going to persevere for a while longer.
I've poked around in it a while....none of the payouts are that impressive. I don't see why I'd ever use this instead of straight up Adsense in prime positions. I need more geolocated stuff.
This is interesting. Everyone who's put it on their site, keep us updated, let us know if you've made any conversions. I want to put this on my site as soon as it becomes available to me.
I've had it running for 4-5 days now. I'm getting clicks, but no conversions just yet. The good part is, my CTR and ECPM stayed unaffected by the new ad block.
I've tried it. At the moment, they aren't offering too many impressive products. But it looks like it could do great in the future.
I just tried it out... I put about 5 different ads in my referral unit, including the firefox ad. Then I refreshed the page about 5 times... each time the firefox ad appeared. I'll play around with it some more tomorrow, without using any of the 'google products' ads.
I tried it for a week but removed it since it didn't give a crap! CB and CJ is a lot better. Better conversion and better pay-out. Guess Google is trying to crack down on CB/CJ and take their business. With 5-6,000 unique visitors you'd think that you would get some conversions but nada, so they are gone and I'll probbaly wait until they get some better ads to show and that people might want to buy in my niche.
I looked at it and told myself that it's not going to work so I didn't bother putting the ads on my site at all.
Adsense Refferral 2.0 is pretty much like an affiliate program and I would rather use cj, linkshare and clickbank because they give you more flexibility.
I have been running it on my site for about 2 weeks now (give or take a day). I replaced ads that had a good CTR. My clicks went to almost zero. I do not think the problem is Google, I blame myself for the poor performance, Google is much better at picking the ads than I am (I've been picking individual ads and not selecting the entire group. I am also suprised that there are not more advertisers available in the program.
