I also saw the message this morning that my account can use referrals 2.0 . Not sure what exactly it is and how useful it is. I think I need to do a bit of R&D.
It is nothing but referring people to some website, where they can buy/do a survey etc, if they do so we will get paid. I had lots of impressions not even a single click also my overall CPM dropped I decided to take it off. and it is back to normal where it was before.
I have just placed it.. will see the performance for 3-4 days and then decide. Let's all share our experiences of using the referrals 2.0.
to be honest, you would need more than 3-4 days to see actual performance. I'd say 3-4 months at least. 3-4 days isn't that great of a standard to measure against.
i think there is going to be alot of advertisers that just get free clicks. if someone signs up for something now and buys something a month from now,i don't see us getting money for that. thanks for the update.keep us posted!
I prefer to stick with my regular ads too, at least for now, & I don't hve time to spend trying to figure out the best combination of products & keywords .. No prob for the update
I've been running it for 2 days. I am amazed at the coversion rate. I think a couple of things helping me are: 1. I have a niche web site 2. The referral units are nicely blended in with content I will try to post an update in a week. Jacob
I've got this on my account. Thinking about giving it a try. My commission junktion affiliate links aren't earning squat, although they've only been up for a little over a month. And adcents earns well... cents.
it's an update on Google's Adsense program wherein publishers are now allowed to make referral ad units other than just Google products. Referrals 2.0 offers products from thousands of AdWords advertisers, so you can find the right ads for your sites. But since this is still a referral ad, you will only be payed when an action is fulfilled. This could be in the form of a sale, filled-up form, membership registration, etc.
I'm using them 3 days ago. The results are bad so far (1 click 0$ for no conversion). Today, I've placed them in another place which was good for the regular ads. I'll keep monitoring and tell you what happens.
I also got some 4-5 clicks but no conversion, not sure for how long they keep track of cookies for the conversion.
I am trying on one site, and only in one corner at the moment. half a day now.. I had 250 imp, 5 clicks and nothing yet. But its nice to know how much you are going to get if someone actually register/buy
