I wonder if anyone tried text-link-ads.com. They claim that it could boost your pagerank since they post your link to various sites. And secondly what are the pros and cons from the publishers perspective? If you have tried them please post your experience. Thanks
If you ask me - avoid them. Google hate TLA, no doubt about that. Sites using TLA get penalized at least that's my personal experience.
I agree with zexy - i had a few PR6 sites and they were killed off when i put TLA on them - i was earning great money on each site for a few months ( about 2k a month ) and then google hit me good. I would stay away from them
Needless to say it sounded too good to be true. Thanks for the advise. No wonder why google hates them.
Yes, TLA paying a good money and as per your mentioned, you will get negative impact from google if you using TLA as your partnership. I was earning from them previously but i have stop them since PR is more important for me
I had a nice PR5 site with good content, but got penalized because of using TLA .....(down to 0 ). Have since removed the code and hoping to keep building content and get some sort of rank back.
There are pretty obvious disadvantages to using TLA now. The marketplace there is a lot less active, Google will quite happily let your site slip into oblivion if they catch you buying links there, and i don't think it's really economically viable to pay for such links on a monthly basis anymore.
I was a member of Text Link Ads before, everything worked fine and I got always paid on time. However, it completely screwed up my page rank for a while.A better option is to sell links from your site on your own, and keep all the profits.
From Publisher point of view, Please stay away from them. I had tla on one of my PR3 site and after adding tla in the next update my page rank dropped to 1. SticKer
My 2 cents : See their alexa ranking for last few months .. They are going -- Down --> Down and Down ... Sure sign which says - Stay Far. All Success /G
Do you think Google automatically scans the directory of TLA listings and then goes to reduce PR of listed sites? In that case I don't think I'll be signing my new sites up there... Unfortunately I can't just withdraw existing ones totally as I've got customers, but I reduced the number of link spots.
I have heard nothing but negative reviews of them for both advertisers and publishers, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
