Has anyone tried using all new MS expression web..? product experts say that its a software made to design websites with clean/correct code unlike MS FrontPage or any other web designing software for that matter.

Can u get a w3c complaint code which is 100% accurate from Expression web or even MS sharepoint designer..?

Pls share your experience with us if anyone has already used MS expression web

If Microsoft can't make a browser that adheres to the standards, chances are their web authoring programs won't either. Having said that, it does a much better job than Frontpage and won't carry over its notorious tag as some worthless tool.

You will still have to do a fair bit of work to refine your code. Having said that, that will always be necessary, at least for a long time yet. Being able to say "my page validates" is just the start (and is overrated in my opinion). There are more important things such as improving usability, accessibility, portability to other devices etc.

Back on topic, Expression Web is definitely an improvement and I would say - although as one who doesn't use these editors much - that it is a viable alternative to Dreamweaver.

I use to use Frontpage, which was for easy to use, but Microsoft Expression web is more advanced, and has more features.

But now in class we are using Dreamweaver for web page design, So I may switch, not sure yet.

Cant? Think "doesnt" would be more accurate.

As said however, it is easy to make a website that is terribly coded and a mass of accessibility issues which is 100% standards compliant.

Even if a WYSIWYG is 100% perfect in generating code if the user themselves miss uses elements etc it will still create rubbish code even if it is compliant.

From all accounts it is much better than Frontpage was. Main concern would be on the interface for the .Net elements as some of the standard controls are compliant but dont follow best practice and so there is a fair amount of learning to be done to create your own components that are compliant and usable to replace the out the box ones. I am not sure if the package is sufficiently .Net enabled to do this (I see they are intending to continue with the Visual Web Developer series which strongly suggests it isnt going to have 100% of .Net capabilities)

Yes, I should have said "doesn't" or "won't", I don't think clearly when writing on forums. Especially when my main point was what you iterated, that there is much more to code than validation.

Suprising to see comments from people who have not even used the software. Seriously, why do you bother?

I have used it as I managed to get a free licence for it. I was quite impressed by it. For beginners/intermediate level designers, it is quite easy to do layouts and the CSS edit/generation was quite a suprise. For those wanting to do CSS layouts and aren't too good or new, Expression Web does a very good job in helping you create good layouts quite fast.

Only issues I had was the preview would not show the end result properly when there were CSS floats in use - did not affect preview in browser though.
