Anyone tried contacting the publisher?

    Hello,
I am selling some ebooks and for one of my site, this is going rather good. Since this is going as good as it is, i am kind of tempting to write my own ebook on the subject as I have a lot of knowledge in that nisch. The problem is that I am kind of busy so this wouldn't be really an option for me within the next 3-4 months.

So my question to you Clickbank pros out there: has anyone tried contacting a publisher of the products that you are promoting, pehaps telling him how it is and how you want him to increase the sale % commision? Or else you will write your own ebook?
I know this don't work with all nisches out there, but i believe im one of the very few who sells "his" products, so if i told him to raise the % , you think he would do it?

    Thanks for your time,

why not try and ask? I think the best thing to get out of contacting a publisher is asking him promotion tips.
Ask him how and where he advertises.

I am not looking for tips, i just want him to raise the sale %. My site converts pretty good and I think i might be the only one who actually sells his ebooks for him.

If your site converts well...then they could consider it ...bythe way what % of conversion are we talking about?

How do you contact a publisher that doesn't put their email on landing page?

I wrote a publisher about a book that I made a sale on and asked him how old this book was, he said 2 years.. no wonder it got refunded, after my 2nd letter I never got a reply back from him....Im almost tempted to go and make my own now. I wish people would keep up-to-date on their material.

As a publisher I can tell you this. I wouldn't share any tips if I was told you were going to be my competition. I've set my commission to a % that I think is good for both of us; however, if you're making most of my sales I may reconsider.

I wish my affiliates would contact me more because most of them don't know how to sell the books.

We do have a contact page on our website ;-)

I Have only contacted 2 publishers in the past because I needed to get the

product they were selling, 2 of them replied with the download links

very quickly and one of them has a gravity of over 160. I have not

tried for a higher commission because the products already pay a lot

and I really don't see it as fair to the publisher who is already giving

you 75% and has to still pay fees to clickbank

P.S I had sold at least 10 copies before contacting them

If you are a serious marketer, the vendor will usually offer you a bonus per sale if you reach X number of sales per month. You may want to email him asking if there is ant incentive plan which would give you some extra dough if you really prove to be a valuable asset.

This has been my single biggest obstacle from entering this game. I have bought a few and found they are just reselling old ebooks. Also, subscribed to one that was supposed to be some kind of marketing course you pay monthly for. Last post on the "blog" or forums was Nov 2007 (found out *after* i subscribed of course).

The solution, go out and make your own product and promote it. There are ebook authors willing to write for $2 a page. It doesn't take 3-4 months to write one.

As a publisher, I probably would just reply back with a nice email saying that my commissions are at a level that is beneficial for myself as well as making it worthwhile for affiliates (Not sure what % he is giving you, I always give a 65% commission on products).

Nice thread, Out of curiosity how many sales is a lot to a publisher for an affiliate to be noticed. How many sales a day would you publisher like to see to hand out some tips or invest a little more time with them.

    5 a day
    20 a day
    50 a day
    200 a day?
