Anyone tired of religion? Anyone believe in something more.

I truly believe religion is just a way to control the masses with the punishment and reward ideology. I have always questioned religion because I have seen discrepancies and I just can't take the answer of "it's just the way it is" so I just strayed away and now I beleive in something greater that I came upon by coincidence and I would like to see if anyone here has had the same experience.

I have suffered throughout my life of sleep paralysis where I would wake up and could not move whatsoever. very frightening so at some point I decided just to wait and let it pass and it did until a few months ago. The same thing happened and I was waiting for the sleep paralysis to pass and for some reason i thought of moving or getting up and at that moment I felt floating out of my body. I know it sounds weird but it did happen where I could see my body below and even my wife. I saw around my room and i could see the door, the window. All this happened within five to ten seconds and I was fully conscious, i freaked out because I thought I was dying or something and suddenly I was again in my body. It was very weird and I just wanted to find out what happened so i started searching for some answer on the Internet and I read about Robert Monroe, Robert Moen, Frank Keppler. I have to say after reading their experiences I have come to believe in something beyond religion, that has some answers based on science as well so basically what i believe is.

hell and heaven do no exist. they are just concepts created by man to instill fear and a reward if someone is good.

I believe that everyone will transition into a place we believe in. This would be sort of a holding place until we are ready to advance to a more advanced state.

I am telling you something weird happened to me and because of that I have found many answers and I have experienced other situations not as dramatic as being out of the body but very close.

    Any thoughts

It's great that you have rejected religion, but have you tried not believing in any made up bollocks?

If I am not mistaken atheists believe that once you die then that's it right? Nada, Zip, nil.

hey I respect that but to say it is made up stuff just because someone says is not valid either. People believed the sun moved around the earth, the earth was flat, then a few believed otherwise and they were told not to make up stuff.

I truly believe mankind knows nothing about so much stuff out there and of course people will say its just made up stuff.

I believe one should have an open mind about things. I experienced something that open the door to other possibilities. I will not say it is a demon possesing me but I will not say it's just my brain acting out either.

    Take care

I do not think it was a dream or ilusion. I was fully conscious. I have had sleep paralysis since I can remember but never had the experience I had.

On another occasion I also had a situation of sleep paralysis and it is always characterized by the sound of loud ringing in your ears. At this time I welcomed it because I wanted to experience getting out of my body but instead I had lucid dream where I knew I was dreaming and I had somewhat control of my dream. I definitely know there is a difference from getting out of my body seeing my room, my wife next to me and a lucid dream. They are definitely two differnet things.

Continue your search into yourself the same way you've been proceeding, without conclusions or falling into any dogma be it total belief in religion or total disbelief.

Not very scientific to go into an experiment with an answer already in your head; people like you are needed more.

~ Quite amazing - The question to ask might be could you reproduce the out of body experience under conditions of your own choosing and maybe drift through a wall? - Am myself always working to perform such a feat - as we all know the body is going to perish and whatever is necessary to keep living will be done without it.

I know most scientist will say it is a hallucination of some sort. The funny thing is that I've had sleep paralysis since I was a kid and I had never had any hallucinations. I honestly thought everyone had it and it was normal. All I did was wait it out and it went away until the experience I had. The thing is I saw my surroundings as vividly as any other day, is that a hallucination, I wouldn't think so.

I have read where people have made experiments to validate the fact that they are out of their body, I would like to do that but of course I am just getting started as to what this is.

The question lingers, was it a hallucination, was it real? I say it was real.

I had a lucid dream where I found myself in the living room of some strange house. Somehow I knew I was dreaming so I thought of being in my house and it happened, my surroundings changed to my own bedroom. I have to say I was freaking out so I though of going back into my physical body .

Now this is the weirdest part for me because I had never experienced it. I clearly felt as I was descending into my physical body, I felt the sensation of adjusting and tweaking all in very slow motion. I felt my arms being dropped into my physical arms and adjusting as well. I felt a tingling on the tips of my fingers as it did the final adjustment and felt a rush of blood, then I felt vibrations for like a few seconds, then I woke up and I felt a little tired. It was the weirdest experiences ever.

I really have to say this was no hallucination, or my brain playing tricks. Anyone saying it's just made up stuff is just too narrow minded.

Awesome experience, hope to open the door to more.

I once heard a wise man say "just because you're religious, don't take it out on me."

Cant we all agree that their is one creator and your god isnt better than my god and that we are all the same people, a creation of a creator?
