Anyone think this is a viable business idea???

    Hi Guys,

I wanted to run this past everyone, to try get some feed back as to what people think::

Ive been / always am, trying to think of a good idea to earn my money.

    my most recent one is..

To go to local business's (a clothing shop for example) that has a full ecom site. but doesn't use any affiliate marketing.. Then to firstly sell the concept of affiliate marketing, and to earn the money by setting up and managing the account on their behalf, for a percentage of all the sales generated using the affiliate marketing method...

Has anyone done anything like this before? I've never actually managed a merchant account, but have several sites that i use for marketing other peoples products.

Would there be a silly amount of work involved in this?

I guess the main thing is choosing a good company to market for.

Obviously a certain percentage would be paid to the marketer, and also to the third party company (like clickbank or never blue etc) would it leave any money for me?

Any ideas or comments are really appreciated and i look forward to seeing what you all think on this..

    Thanks in advance.

    Dan

You would probably have to see how much they are selling stuff for and then look at the competition.

Usually I do that and see lots of other vendors selling stuff cheaper.. With drop shipping and bulk importers it is hard to compete online.

But if you can sell stuff cheaper.. then you got it.

i totally agree with you. it's pretty hard to compete on selling some real products online (in terms "real" i meant real stuff not software, ebooks, etc) cause there are a lot of competitors out there who are offering the same stuff and with cheaper price.

even with the same quality :)

Good concept, but won't give you enough money to support yourself unless you turn this into a large business with many employees.

sounds like a good idea to me. As long as you have a clear, decisive business plan that you can present to them. It is not likely that they may trust you directly if you stroll into the shop and present this idea to them. But you are coming from a very good angle. Let me know how that works for you. I may use this same plan for my business. I sell wellness products online and teach others how to do the same.

Well my friend as long as u have the drive (giving ur all) and believe you can do.. You will! The thing is I never believed that statement until I gave it my ALL while believing I could do it! I sang 2 businesses, destroyed my credit and moved back HM with the moms bc i lost my house and my girl left me this happened over 5 yrs ago and yes that stuff that happened got me down I'm not gonna lie it beat me the fuck up. However, when u fall off the horse, what do u do? Regarless of how hard u fall what do u do? Bc my depressed, broken hearted and fucked up self esteem got back on that bitch and bc of that I'm able to bs here bc my business runs that smoothly! Plz understand one thing, that is I would never be where I am without God! He picked me up and saw that I made through it all so the thing u need to keep in mind about this post is that YOU CANT DO IT ALONE!

Yes,you still can get your share but the amount is small.
I would suggest you to get rid of middle man such as clickbank and setup your own affiliate company, thus you can save a lot.

sounds like a great idea...but demands allot from your side.
it's also depends on the seller itself - if he can get you better online prices (don't forget you need to send all the merchants by mail - more expenses).

im exactly the same as you allways thinking of a decent idea to make cash, thing is this idea is pretty solid it just needs a lot of hard work, you need to go to local shops and say, let me list your products online and give me a %% for getting you sales for example, you need to come across profressional, have a decent simple site which appeals to companys as profressional, i own a media company in CA and ok we dont exactly sell physical products but we sell online advertising on websites, if you came down my offices and asked if i was interested in partnering with you to sell my products for a %% i would be interested as its actually no loss to myself your doing all the hard work for me as your getting sales for me, how could i turn that down. thing is, what i would be thinking of is that you would be representing my brand, you need to come across as profressional when your selling the affiliate marketing idea a) to the local companys and b) in whatever way you will eventually sell the products.

    good luck!!
