I did consider that. Of course, all I can go on is what information I am given. I don't read arabic, or any other language beyond English, French, Spanish, and smatterings of other European languages as well as a very minor bit of Japanese. And I am told this is a marginal, though vociferous, group. So, based from a presumption of a random sampling, I conclude that the 5 votes here are, more likely than not, either a bit of game playing - forget the term in Japanese, but it's "one who stirs the pot," or, of the others, I question whether it's as much actual support for the group, rather than thumbing the nose at the folks declared it's enemy. I choose a random basis, but if it isn't, I am even more suspect that we harbor somehow a cluster of al-qaeda sleepers in our midst.
I wouldn't assume that the votes would be sleepers necessarily. It could reflect my point (1) that there may be some sympathy for their cause (but not their techniques). This is of course based on my belief that suicide terrorism is driven by occupation and bad foreign policy.
My sleeper thing was a joke. I don't believe DP somehow has this high incidence of sleeper cells who were somehow duped into saying "oh, yay! I get to do a poll about my organization!" If some or all of the poll contributors were at all serious, I guess I don't see it as sympathy, as much as a thumbing of the nose at those al qaeda hates. Al Qaeda's cause, at least as they put out, is worldwide adherence to wahabism. I don't think the folks saying "you bet, Bin Laden's got great shiny teeth" are into that notion. Of course, I could be wrong. I think Grab was one of the two who voted "yes" at the time, prior to his banning. And from what I understand via PM, he's more just acting-out than someone of serious intent.
