Anyone suffer from severe blushing?

This is really starting to annoy me now and it's completely screwing up my life. I can't socialise properly and gradually I'm losing my friends - I'm pretty sure they think I'm a weirdo or something.
I'm fron the UK and up to the start of year 7 it could be said that I wasn't the most popular in the class, school could have gone a bit better for me.

When I started high school (year 7) my life got so much better, I was fairly popular and over confident - I was sometimes the class clown...

The next few years were great, up untill about mid year 9ish; I kinda moved away from the group I was in..

As time went on I started losing my confidence more and more, and now I have none whatsoever. I'm only 15 (in a few days that is) and sometimes blush infront of my parents over the silliest things.

I can't get on with my life untill this has gone. School is really bad for me now, I used to achieve high grades, now I dont have the confidence to even put my hand up and answer a teachers question, and when a teacher asks me a question I freeze up and blush, which isn't helped when people in my class shout things like "Cherry, cherry!!" or "Look he's gone all red", my learning is going down hill and I can't socialise with new people.

I can't see a way out, I've looked on sites for solutions but I haven't found nothing. Can anyone help? :(

I know you might think it's easy to overcome, but it really isn't. Have you ever suffered from it? Honestly, I try to ignore it and just laugh at the comments but I still blush.

You just need to be more confident with the people you hang out with. Make more friends, in each other your classes have several friends. When no one knows you, you feel unwanted. You feel as though your saying doesn't count and makes you feel inferior. Get to know all your classmates, you'll feel alot better.

Okay! Imagine now you become the most money making person in the webmaster business. Then you get all the media attention, now will you blush?
Are you blushing now ? because you are the center of attention of this thread!

Just try to improve yourself, so that when people look at you, the look up at you!

I probably would blush, but if I had loads of money I'd probably get surgery.

I'm not blushing now because I'm not actually speaking to you guys face to face.

It's hard to make friends when people see me blush all the time and just take the piss.

The biggest problem was that you said that in 7th level grade, you were popular because you were the class clown. At that grade level, usually class clowns get attention. But once you go to high school 9+ level, class clowns are mostly looked down upon as jokes. You were used to getting attention cause you were a class clown before. You need to drop that act, and try to fit by making as much friends as possible. So when your walking through the halls, you would get acknowledgment from your friends in front of others.

Even if you were speaking face to face, I am sure you wouldnt have blush!
If people dont be friends with you just because you are a bit shy, then those people arent worth being friends!

A true friend will help you overcome shyness!

You are basically afraid of something... Are you afraid of people making fun of you? Have a look at some of the most popular kids in your school. They also make mistakes, they also screw up... everyone does... Do you know what the difference is between you and them? They don't care... And when you stop caring you gain that confidence.

I did this speech in front of 600 or so people and screwed it up. Now a few years back i would have blushed... I would have lost it... I would have tried to escape... No literally... What i did instead was say:"Oh my gosh! How embarrassing is this! I don't actually remember the words... Il cheat! (And i smiled at the audience as a took out a bit of paper with my speech out of my pocket)" they giggled with me... not at me...

    Hope this helps man...

Disagree, class clowns are awesome in any grade. Especially our school. We have like crazy year 12s and everything.

I think you need to make some more friends. and go out places with them until you build self confidence again.

Do you sweat a lot too? There is a condition called hyperhidrosis that causes excessive sweating and facial blushing (also blushing of the neck and chest).. if this is the case, it can be treated..

I'm the same way, you must be light skinned. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. Or, at least, I've never found a way. It is embarrassing when you feel that red coming all to your face. You just have to go on and be yourself. Be happy and let them think the redness is because you're happy. If you make them laugh, it will be good for all of you.

its good to blush, it aint something bad that you should regret about, i blush rarely but thats me, you do not have to change yourself, also people know you that way, just take their comments in a good way, you must enjoy rather then feeling odd about it.

Blushing is more common than you think. It will not be much of a problem when you leave school, too many school kids make themselves feel better by ridiculing others but not one of them are perfect so forget about them.

When you leave school there will be the occasional idiot that will try to mock you for going red but 99% of people won't mention it and this is how your confidence will grow and you will eventually blush once in a blue moon.

I used to blush when giving presentations. I still would if I presented to large groups. Now I represent my colleagues as a sort of union representative and am due to start a management course in October - both of which will mean standing in front of people and talking. It won't be easy and I will probably go red on occassions or will have times when I can't get the words out but so what, nobody is going to die.

Some people want to be the centre of attention amongst 100's of friends, some need only a few very good friends.

Don't worry so much. Just enjoy who you are and it will work out fine in tyhe end:D
