I am still using XP, SP3. I like the look of vista but the way it works annoys me, plus it is still a little buggy. ~ Mike
I am. I am using dual booting with both Xp and Vista ... for some reason I have not quite took a liking for Vista...but I like some of the features very much .. so I keep shuffling btn the two
Personally I can't stand Vista. I've tried it several times and simply can't get a feel for it at all. I hate having to verify everything I do before it does it and I always have major issues when transferring old XP applicaions and settings. I think ole Mr. Gates could have done alot better than Vista and was in way too much of a hurry to push out a new OS whether we really needed one or not.
I use an acer aspire one netbook, two desktops and a 17' notebook all on XP. Never plan to switch, I think I will wait for Windows 7. although there are some things I like about Vista, the boot time, and slowness is just killing me! Even with 8GB ram, why would I run Vista when I can have 75% faster machine with XP! I think Vista is something like Windows ME was, a failure. I hope Windows 7 will be faster, with clearer and logical menus and stuff.
I have seen the new Microst OS 7 advertised and BETA tested, looks nice but i think i shall stick with Windows XP SP3... I love XP SP3. What are your views on XP? ~ Mike
XP is probably Windows best OS currently released that is still supported and stable, Vista is just a complete mess. Can't wait for the next windows OS release!
To be the situation even more frustrating, Microsoft is currently doing all kinds of dirty and desperate attempts to force users to install Vista, and that is just showing how bad their product actually is. First of all the biggest and most terrible thing they are doing is: they "bribe" hardware and especially notebook manufacturers not to supply drivers for xp with their products, and claim that they do not support XP when in fact, the actual drivers do exist, but the manufacturer companies simply do not provide them with a cd, nor do they keep them on their official support sites. I don't remember anyone ever stating that they do not support windows 98 when XP came out, in fact there are even win98 drivers still coming out for some USB flash drives for example. By this they force casual users, who do not know how to find and install drivers to use Vista. Budget notebooks with a celeron or sempron processor supporting ONLY Vista ?? Come ooon give me a break.. Desperate attempt No.2: DirectX 10. They immediately published it with vista and marketed DX10 even before Vista came out, so they can caught the attention of gamers, BUT it's been almost two years since Vista came out and still no real games that use DirectX10 to its full capability, and there won't be any for a year or two probably(well, until Windows 7 comes out for sure). So why so much rumbling about DX10 then? Well of course, they simply needed to force probably the most biggest spending PC users to use their Vista, the gamers. No.3 Should I go on? Well I could but I think the first two are pretty much enough for now
Vista is only visually better then XP. But the programmers are usually on XP, bacause is faster and the performance are the same. I am on XP and don't think that i will go on Vista
Vista sucks to the max... But like it or not, I have to change to Vista in the near future.. yucks! Nizzura
I still use XP, because vista's really complicated to me I guess because they change some stuffs they tried to make it look more Hi technology i guess but I kinda don't like it.
I'm still using XP and I'll be using it on my next computer, too, even if I have to pay something extra for it (as you quite often do now).
Agreed. Why should I convert to VISTA if didn't do what I want to do with my pc? What should I used vista if it mean I can't play my CEASER III or TIBERIAN SUN anymore. Those are the reasons I use my pc - if vista didn't allow me to do that - I'd better stick to XP. hehe . I've no worries about virus as I didn't connect those pc to the net. It's for playing an old old game - that's it. XP - still the way to go. wait - I think i will make the switch one W7 out. They look promising pretty much look like Mac OS
