IE is very forgiving when it comes to this.

Maybe 90% of the web pages you look at, but for me it's only about 1% of the web pages I look at that don't render correctly in Firefox. Any site that is still built IE-only isn't worth visiting.

You must not visit anything but fortune 500 corporate web sites then. Because every time I open firefox and try to view any small hobby site it's almost always formatted incorrectly.

No not at all.. I grew up with IE and I love it. It's very easy to design a site in IE also... trying to make it work it firefox is the biggest bitch in the world...

Almost all the people I know who work online and use firefox say they like it more than IE for 2 reasons:

    1) Tabbed browsing
    2) no pop ups and virus (better protection)

I know the new IE is supposed to have tabbed browsing and I would assume better virus/popup protection... so what will be the benefit to using firefox anymore :)

I agree with yo-yo, I've also found loads of sites that looked all messed up with firefox, or won't play videos or other multimedia stuff on them

My son has Firefox as the default browser on his laptop. When trying to use an online virus scanner to delete an IM virus he picked up, I got a message telling me that the service could only be accessed from IE.

You've got a point there. I am an update freak, I always keep everything on my computer up to date.

And if you want to access windows updates, you need to use IE. same thing happens with several other similar sites.

Fox fire has a lot of hype but when I look at my website stats IE is used at least 10 times more from Foxfire.

I avoid IE like the plague. I only use it if I don't have Firefox, which is never.

All you people touting IE obviously have forgotten that not too long ago Internet Explorer was a security nightmare. That left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. I'm glad Microsoft has improved their browser, but I'm going to stick with Firefox for now. I switched to FF for the improved security, and I stay for the great features (and extensions).
