http://hosting-reviews-exposed.com I found it quite interesting. You have to watch the youtube video. They reviewed several of the top web host review sites to find that they are nothing but link farms, MFA sites, affiliate link sites or bid based paid advertising sites. I'd beware of these. Afters seeing this, its pretty evident that the bulk of these web host review awards and rankings are pure bull $hiT. Enjoy.
True, but from a consumer standpoint, most are duped into thinking that one or more on that top 10 list are somehow legitimately ranked the best. Its really misleading.
There are a lot of great hosts out there, the smaller companies are usually willing to help people out more with personalized support. To look for hosting, I would do the following: 1. Stay away from huge companies, while they are ok for starting a web site, many of these companies overload their servers, by a lot. 2. Look for a hosting firm that's actually a registered business (LLC, C, etc). 3. Make sure they've been in business for at least a year. 4. Be very weary of deals that are under $5/mo, servers cost money, you CANT sell hosting plans at $20/year and actually make profit. Support costs money too. A lot of the deals here on DP are great for the first 5 days maybe? But you can't expect them to last, because each of these companies need at least $1500 a year to break even. With $20/yr accounts you need 75+ accounts to remotely break even (on a low end server).
