i used to get about 40 cents per click, but now getting around 15cents per click sometimes even worse, today got 40+ clicks with 0ver 10K views, but only makes me less than $5..
That "could" signify a decrease in advertiser spending which isn't unreasonable in a reccession BUT Google stock isn't taking a nosedive so my guess is there is something else at play. How well a site converts is being taken into consideration more and more by many ad networks. Advertisers are spending their money where they get the biggest bang for their buck and so it stands to reason that if your clicks don't convert well you will start to get paid less for them. The BEST paying clicks/sites seem to be coming from sites with very little repeat traffic and a very high percentage of natural search visitors. Search visitors are actively looking for something and advertisers desperately want to get in front of those searchers. SEO is alive and well folks and will be more and more critical over the next few years. If your site isn't wikipedia like in quality, so help you! (just kidding but barely).
Yeah .. you are right .. This happened since last month's maintenance. This month my traffic has increased about 70% but still I am earning the same for which I used to earn with my old traffic. So i compared the results of earning of previous months with current earnings. The results were disappointing. For the same number of click I am earning half of what I was earning last month. I thought this is happening to me only but i think its global now.
Yeahh i noticed that also, that prooves that earlier gogole used to show more diff diff ads frequently. and now they sometime show same ads again and again. may be they are running short of advertisers. or their competitors are doing well.
Or maybe people realize that Adwords is "a bit" overvalued... I mean there are tons of cheaters and this is even admitted by google. I personally never advertise on the content network because I want to spend the money otherwise spent on hackers a better way....
