    What makes you say that?

And, is it too high to get a chunk of the pie? ;)

Google doesn't pay dividends. I just make some extra cash buying low and selling high. (Actually buy high and sell higher would be more appropriate :D)

I would recommend you only use money you can afford to lose though.

IMO even at these price levels G is a buy if you are in for the long term.

    Go GOOG !

I was reading the news about Google's latest earnings release and noticed they give away in the article how much was paid out to AdSense affiliates. With some simple math you can easily figure out that G paid out about $750 Million in the first 3 months of the year to AdSense users. Not a bad chunk of change!

OK so lets think about this...
they paid out $750m, their revenues were $2.25bn
Now lets say the revenue was mostly from advertising, so lets say $2bn.

Id say between $500m-$1bn revenue was from actual google searches, so that doesnt count as adsense revenue for webmasters.

Which means between $1.5 and $1bn revenue was from adsense.

So, by my estimate that means google pays out between 75% and 50% to adsense publishers of the adwords bids.

Just my rant, i think its interesting. (although most of us knew this already)

Nice find. That # includes premium publishers, who get a much higher % than non-premium members.

So the % regular publishers receive might be 65-75%?

I forget where I read this. But Google said or let it slip what percent they paid out to adsense.....it was like 72% I believe.

Didn't someone make the point that google throws a lot of expenses into the "cost of traffic" - which inflates the %, but its actually lower than your calculations suggest. Its in another thread somewhere, I think

What does price have to do with anything?

I personally believe they may be overvalued in comparison to some other stocks, but I still dont understand how the price plays any role, other than keeping people who think it is too expensive out ;)

    Google: The next Enron?
Why not, i dont know, but i think its too good to be true.

How can they report +30% increases every quarter while Adsense publishers (their associates) saw a huge drop in CPC since 12 months ago? That remains a mystery. I think Google Inc. is not transparent enough for a public corporation.

Also US ecommerce growth is slow these days. I dont get it.
