Hi, New to digital point but have been enjoying the conversations so far. I was wondering if anyone had any experience setting up an local small business consulting site using your skills and knowledge in IM to get offline work? This is something I am very interested in as the whole reason I got into IM was to help grow my brick and mortar pool construction and service company. I was able to drastically increase sales this year using my IM knowledge and think I could provide a valuable service to other local businesses in my area. Has anyone gone this route and been succcessful?
I have not done this but I kn ow someone who is doing this. He already got a site before he sets up his business.
Hello, Helping brick and mortar businesses online is a 'hot' topic right now. Most traditional business owners don't know the first thing about IM. It is usually very easy to get a site ranked for a local business using a geographic modified keyword phrase. eg: "Seattle pool construction". Here is some advice for getting clients. Build a site targeted to a specific niche in a specific geographic area. eg: "Portland dentists". Get it ranked, then show it to a few Portland area dentists and offer to customize the site to promote their dentist business. Since you are approaching them with the proof that you can get them ranked, they are much more likely to hire you. Hope that helps.
It has got a lot of risk involved in it. There are Many large and established business management consultants such as are in the field and competing them is highly risk. The reason why not much are onto it. Read more here http://www.kpmg.com/Ca/en/services/Advisory/PerformanceTechnology/Pages/BusinessEffectiveness.aspx
