Anyone notice a big drop in traffic from squidoo lately?

I've got quite a few lenses and typically get a fair amount of traffic from some of them, but for the past few days traffic from them has almost stopped.

Has anyone else noticed a big drop in traffic to their lenses? One lens i have ranked #1 on google for a bunch of niche specific keywords and was in the top 1000 lenses on squidoo, but now it's no where to be found. I think google must be slapping squidoo again.

The weirdest part though is that traffic has slowed or stopped across ALL of them, not just one or two. They're not spammy lenses either.

I've been noticing this too. I think the days of being able to use Squidoo for good placements are over. I wouldn't put much energy into building them now based on what I'm seeing. Don't forget Google has slapped Squidoo in the past. Remember a couple of years ago when a bunch of porn spammers created a lot of of porny lenses and Google completely deindexed ALL of Squidoo until they got rid of the lenses? So stuff like that can happen any time. It's never a good idea to get too dependent on third party sites unfortunately because at some time the ride will be over.

That said, it still sucks when you have some good quality lenses that have been bringing regular traffic.

This is normal and nothing to worry about. I don't think it's anything to do with a Google slap on Squidoo.

Give it a couple of weeks and you should find that the lens will reappear in Google and the traffic will return. If you want to try and speed up the process, submit the lens RSS to a couple of feed sites. You could also republish the lens and then ping it using the ping tool on the advanced dashboard at SquidUtils.com.

At any one time you will find that amongst a group of lensmasters, some will have had a recent drop in overall traffic and some will have received an increase.

It definitely sucks. One of those lenses was a pretty good earner for me.

If it were just one or two lenses i'd agree that it was normal. But it's ALL of my lenses. I've got about 10 that get fairly decent traffic, and the traffic to them has basically stopped. I've already done a few things like you've mentioned, but i haven't seen any traffic improvement yet. Hopefully they'll come back, i'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's strange to say the least!

Experiencing the same thing, definitely seen a dramatic drop in traffic and a heap of lenses not indexed after months.
