I've got 10 years plus experience developing shopping carts and I'm looking to increase my reputation around here by doing some free reviews for start up ecommerce shops.

If you have an ecommerce store you'd like reviewed, post it here. I'll take a look, and give you a free detailed report regarding my analysis, suggestions, and recommendations.

    I'm always happy to help.

www.thunderfap.com - Freebie Archive. Directory of descriptions and links to free resources.

OVERVIEW: The site has borderline userfulness. It uses an unprofessional design with a retro early 80's look and feel. Poor choice in fonts and colors. Low grade logo. Gives an armature impression.

Ok, this review is going to be a little rough, so please bear with me. i think that biggest thing you've got going for you here is that you're not trying to charge anyone for anything. I normally review ecommerce sites, so I probably expect a higher overall quality website. Please don't negatively rep me, as I'm only giving my honest opinion, and trying to help.

First of all, I hate to say it, but the template you are using is flat out awful. This is what websites looked like in the early 80's. Don't take offense if you designed this yourself, because if I designed something from scratch, it wouldn't be much better. These days, however, freebie websites are a dime a dozen, and if you really want people to surf around your website very much, you've got to use a template designed by a talented professional. There are tons of places you can get a professional looking template on the cheap, or even free. Then all you have to do is integrate it into the content management application you're using. I recommend checking out the templates at templatemonster.com, and then hiring an integration specialist to integrate it into your software. There's also no continuity between pages. some pages have a footer, some don't. some pages have header ads, some don't. It almost looks like each page is individually created and maintained. This shouldn't be the case if you are using decent content management or directory software.

Second, functionality. while you do have some marginally useful content, the problem is that it's impossible to find it. There's no search functionality whatsoever, the blue link on the blue background are difficult to read, and there's no margin between the edge of the text and the edge of your tables. In short, no one will ever find what they are looking for here unless they completely stumble on it by accident.

Third, the logo is marginable at best. There's a ton of talented logo creators, some on this very site, that will design a professional logo for around $20. no need to design one yourself.

Fourth, the ads. One of the things I think you did very well with this site is integrate your google ads. They seemslessly blend into the rest of the site, and should help with your click to impression ratio. Unfortuantly, I think you've overdone it a little with 5 full ads + descriptions down the left side, PLUS an additional 4 full ads _ description across the top. I'd recommend changing your ads accross the top to be just link ads instead of text ads.

Fifth, SEO. You've got unique meta titles, which is a great start. All of your pages will probably be indexed. But there's quite a bit more you can do to make it better. I'd recommend starting with adding keyphrase packed alt text or titles for all images and links. Also I'd throw in a google sitemap.

Anyways,I know this review is a little rough to hear, but I thought you'd rather have my honest opinion, along with some personal recommendations.
