I know there are some isapi rewrite progs out there - but i was wondering if anyone had found one that actually gets IIS to use htaccess files.

I'm trying to SEF a Joomla site on IIS, and not having alot of luck with the ISAPI rewrite / url rewrite options i've found, nor have i had any success with making WP blogs SEF in iis.

Any thoughts, or insights? switching to apache for me is unfortunately not an option - unless there is a way to run apache and IIS on the same machine successfully.

I've heard about a "port 8080" trick to getting IIS and apache on one box - but i'm unsure how to get this set up.

    Thanks,

    VG

No, but you can use ISAPI Rewrite, which has the same capabilities. I seem to remember there was also a free option developed by someone here on the forum (try searching), but you may want to stick with ISAPI Rewrite since it is tested and very reliable.
