    If so....what are you doing?

What are the benefits of having a myspace site to earn money?

Any anything else that could help people.

There are none -- it's like having any other site. You need quality content, a good unique layout, a good CMS, a fast host with lots of BW and you need to know how to advertise. By advertise I don't mean spamming people on Myspace. I mean ranking well in SE's from backlinks and word of mouth.

No one is going to tell you what they are doing -- you need to figure that out.

Hey Seobiznezz, it's just another source of traffic. It depends on what type of profile you put up, what you link to off site, and the quality of your friend requests, etc.

Myspace really depends on the traffic you are targetting..you can be lot successful given you have services targetted to myspace users. Myspace users are not there to buy most times remmeber that though.

Ok, however what are the benefits of myspace compared to xyzsite.com ???

I can see people getting lots of friends and inviting them to their page and then having links and banners to their mother site.

From what I am understanding I can build a one page site about myspace.com/widgets post content about widgets and then have banners and links to the main site that actually sells the widgets.

    Am I missing anything here?
How do people get friends and traffic?
Why do you rarely see any myspace site that is more than one page deep?

    What is the big hype?

Is anyone out there making $100 a day from their site?

There are people making $5,000 a day off their sites... Like I said -- spamming Myspace won't get you anything. You need to provide lots fo content and rank well in SERP's. You can't just make a profile, add friends, and direct them to your site that is riddled with ads.

    There is no Big Hype

Alot of Myspace sites are more then a page deep.

Myspace is mainly a tool to get traffic. Not very high quality traffic at that too. It will take a lot of research and time on your part to start making money from any type of page regardless of the template you use, blogger, myspace, self made, etc......

There is now way to make quick money off myspace page. Although if you have an idea compatible with myspace layout and niche then you should definitley go for it. If you have no idea, first try and figure out how you want to make money and then see what you may need for it.

make a profile of a guy that loves "cars", make a site about cars, add some adsense, link to your money making site from your profile saying something like:

"hey, this is my main hobby site about hot rods"

then find 1 - 5k friends that match your desired demographics and add them and see what happens

I doubt that very much - I joined today to see what the fuss was all about, and in the space of 2 hours I have received 9 messages asking if I want to visit this site or another site.

It seems to me that its a spammers heaven.

I highly doubt that anyone besides Father Tom actually makes any money off of MySpace. It makes for some good traffic though depending on the time of day.

From affiliate offers but dont use banners or anything.
Over $700 today with a few hours of the day left aswell. People who think there is no money on myspace must believe the only way to make money is sending messages and comments, its actually not that hard and you dont have to spam either.

A few ideas where you don't have to spam:

Using Myspace pages for good SERPS.
Viral widgets, things people can put on their profile.
Creating your own Myspace groups, posting in group message boards.

How about you jabb? Any other thoughts?
