You don't essentially make good coin marketing the ebooks on ebay, you make a few hundred, but where you make the good coin is when you upsell a bigger and more expensive $100 product to the buyer list of the ebooks....
A few hundred a month sounds like awesome coin to me! I see guys selling digital products with 4000+ feedback. I want to reach that status. Anyone know where I can source ebooks to sell?
Instead of using PLR, why not create your own info products. With Camtasia Studio it is way easier and less time consuming then ebooks... Plus videos have a higher perceived value. -SS
Last year I sold a $35 ebook on ebay. I sold enough to earn the lowest status of powerseller (at least three months of $1000/mo.) The key is to have original material that you can sell for real money (not $0.99). Also don't be afraid to use a "traditional" salesletter on ebay. I did, and I'd often convert at 1 in 11.
That's great npennington! Was your ebook in the "make money" niche or in a more general field? Are you still selling your ebook? I have an ebook that sells well and I was wondering if I should offer it through ebay at it's full price. This ebook is in a non-IM niche, but was afraid to sell it on ebay because I heard that if you are successfully selling an unusual ebook on ebay, copycat auctions start popping up selling your stolen ebook for a lot less. Have you experienced this?
My ebook was about a forex trading system. I sold 500 copies before I pulled it from the market (as I promised in the salesletter). There were other forex systems for sale, but no one actually outright copied me.
Thanks for the reply, if I understand you right, you did write the ebook yourself? Or you had a resell rights to some already existing ebook?
Thanks npennington! Since ebay was so lucrative for you, did you consider selling there again? I need to list my own niche ebook on ebay now. I will keep everyone updated on the results.
No, I haven't really considered selling on ebay again. There are several reasons. 1) I ran into some real jerks on ebay. If I had been selling from my own website exclusively, they wouldn't have bothered me. However, they could leave negative feedback on ebay (and they did). That hurt my sales. 2) During the time that I was selling on ebay, I was also selling that product from my own website. On my website, I made about 4x more money than on ebay.
npennington, so u did provide a link to yr website from ebay site also ? I am considering ebooks on ebay, but am not sure about what to write about ... there are tons of ebooks there.
If you write your own ebook with original/quality conent, then that's when the coin starts rolling in.
I definitely agree that writing your own ebook is more profitable. It is so easy to research on things these days that you could knock up an ebook in a week. Don't just stick to IM related products, try go for popular niches.
I did link from my auction to my website. As I was selling it for less on ebay (minus a bonus), I was trying to drive the point home that it was a bargain on ebay (even though I was charging $35 for it). Remember ebayers are bargain hunters. I'd also use the "best offer" function. I'd usually accept anything above $20 (because that's what I made when an affilite sold it from my site).
Very interested to hear how it goes for you. If I might offer one small piece of advice . . . If you offer any kind of a money back guarantee, honor it even if the buyer hasn't fulfilled the requirements for getting it. That was my biggest mistake. I had a money back guarantee that had a simple requirement. I'd get a few buyers who wouldn't fulfill it, and demand their money back. I'd refuse, and then get negative feedback Just make it easy on yourself. Give them their money back.
creating your own ebook is the ultimate key to earn big online .... u control everything, even your affiliate..
