Does anyone here actually make any real money with amazon? I've been affiliating for amazing for a few months now, and got a few sales that have only added up to a little over $5.00... In 200,000 years, amazons gonna make me a millionaire!;)

I am making small bucks with Amazon.

I have spent a lot of hours selecting Amazon products relevant to specific web pages.

Amazon still pays me less than 5% of what AdSense does.

The get rich quick days are over. I've made $379.13 this quarter so far, vs about $13,000 in six months in the second half of 1993.

Competition grows, so does the buyers. Is it not?

How much traffic do your sites get that people actually buy stuff from amazon and how long did it take?

I've tested some pages with the rat script and nintendos mod_rewrite and added a few tweaks.

Getting top rankings for titles and authors.

I reckon Amazon is becoming similar to the corner convenience store/hypermarket combined. One on every corner but huge. Everybody knows where to go for books,, oh and there's a new lawnmower,, oh and what about a DVD and a TV to go with it??

    The 'magic' has long gone...

Bingo!!!! I was smoking crack and released my mod_rewrite version of MrRats script for free...then on the next Google update...BANG...Google showed the competition!!!! If I had been off crack I would of waited at least few years, if ever, before even releasing the mod_rewrite stuff, and it wouln't of started out as free!!!! grrr!!!! Moral of the story, don't do anything that'll give you a ton of competition!!!

When I was first getting started I took a look at Adsense. Do the math on their commisions. you've got to send them over a million dollars in sales to even get to the point of money worth talking about. Compare this with a million dollars in sales for an affiliate program paying 50%+ Sure, their are benefits like their datafeed, but as was said, too much competition in this area now.

I'm more amazed by the 1993 reference. How old are you Nintendo?

Yah, it's pretty much an agreement -- no one is making big bucks off Amazon. In fact, whenever I see more than one item a day, I'm so shock I have to check to see what people are buying. Usually it's someone going on a major shopping spree and buying up stuff. Go figure. Made about $100 this quarter. :(
