Anyone know where Chris disappeared did he quit too ?

I was thinking that too.

My work online is my living, there is no part time, full time outside job, or just doing this for a hobby, theres no safety net for me.

Online full time.

 

I agree, theres definately the chance to beat any competition, i think a good long term plan, like your own for example will have a good future.

Chis has not stopped promoting his directories-- but he has just become choosy than before--

There was a time when some people opened directories just to get some $$$ from Chris--
They opened directories--Chris submitted to them as Featured- ( they used to spend $24 for domain & hosting------------ Chrish used to pay them minimum $250 to encourage them to become serious directory owners which indicates what type of mentor he has been) -------- and they used to get a cool profit just from Chris.

Now the situation has changed --as some of Chris's wel wisher directory owners pointed out HOW THOSE NERDS WERE MANIPULATING HIS GOOD INTENTIONS--

Now Chris has just become choosy-- all those wannabe $$$ hunters won't get any more easy $$ -- thats for SURE.

The position Chris is in does not require him to visit DP like most of us whose revenue depends on DP.

Although Alive is one of those cursed ones-- just visit the latest page-- and you will see how much revenue Alive is generating

Chris is above DP.
Thats all I know of him.

@popo can i steal all ur directories, so i can have bunch of directories in my arsenal , why dont u sell them popo will make u some money for the gas for elections.

 

Woah, if i may stop you there for a moment, a few months ago someone tried pulling that game on a thread somewhere, to suggest that some lower ranked directories were started to get a little business from a few established ones is untrue and an unprofessional comment.

As pointed out before i see myself as new to this business, i dont accept any suggestion that somehow any directory owner is feeding the lower ranked ones.

Nobody manipulated a more powerful directory, no money has been spent without anyone intending to spend it.

Suggesting that some people depend on DP revenue, not true again.

Never think your above anyone or anything, lets not start throwing around blame at other people, starting to get all snobby about things does not help at all.

Anyway-- I have one request for ya - pls don't make the mistake like one of ur directory that you sold. It would have fetched ya 3 times the price u sold.
I know it is just your hobby to own directories as u want to experience ur for DMOZ experience - but lemme tell ya - human edited & privately owned directories are the best thing that have happened to webmasters and Google. So pls always be a directory owner

 

Don't count me in the race, the only person i am competing against is myself and what i know may abilities are, where that measures against others is not something that i care about.

I can say in every sales role, local, state national ( over many years against the so called best ) I have always taken and held the number 1 spot, based on the above thinking.

But remember mate ur financial background also decides if u can remain the bestest of the best or just be a wanabee bestest. And i do not know your financial background so cannot comment that the best you were racing against were worth comparing to yourself or not.

 

? I am confident in my own ability, and and in that to produce my best, this result i do not compare against others, it is simply my best, but i am tough on myself, pushing boundries and my own expectations, how others view that is up to them.

$ has nothing to do with making it to the top, nor guarantees any position.

Success starts in your thinking, the very good and experienced will know where they stand before they start, i know where my picture is at and what my goals are, but talk is cheap so i plan to quietly walk the walk, but will repeat there is nothing special out there that worries me.

Let's all of us send him $1 each so he stays quiet for a while. Maybe we should pay him every month by subscription?

 

I think Chris and all the other who stopped posting here were the people who made this section of the forums so popular. Basically they are the ones who advertised the "directories" section and made from this one of the best, not DP itself.
Chris was (and I think he still is) a business model for many young guys around dreaming to establish their own directories.
Just remember the quality of the threads a few months ago...imagine a thread where Chris, Jeff, Scott, Blogmaster, !Ask!, David, An0n and many others were participating...that was quality and every newbie (like myself) had the chance to learn much faster and to get quality advice from top people in the industry.

 

In my opinion Chris was one of the standout people that didnt mind sharing and helping people out.His and others like his absence is the forums loss

it is talkin about a person who owned directories but talking about the *person*

if you talk about his directories than it will be related to directories section otherwise this belong to be vanished in the general chat section.
