Anyone know what this bot is?

    I just saw a spider on someone's site called "DeAtH BoT Goo". Anyone know what this is?

    - Is a friendly bot ? or
    - Is ignoring your robots.txt instructions ?
    - Is using always the same IP ?

    Some times ppl can edit the name of Bots so it could just be that.

    People can make their own bots, and name them whatever they please.

    Dataparksearch is one such program

    Sounds like a virus name.. Hmm.. Maybe it's their name for that bot.... But the bot is :

    A robot is a program that automatically traverses the Web's hypertext structure by retrieving a document, and recursively retrieving all documents that are referenced...:D

    You can also name your bot....

    Don't know the IP or anything, it wasn't on my site. The name just seemed a bit dodgy though.

    humm how many people could be named egdcltd asking bout what i was lookin up in google on... lol... hi eg.. hope ur the same one im thinkin of...

    anyhow... the site hes on im at as well... i do have a few admin rights so i was able to get this IP 66.249.65.230 from the ACP...

    im kinda curious bout this bot too b/c dont know if the bot will still be there when the owner is able to get back online to fully check it out and what not...


    edit** on top of this weird bot theres another one that just arrived called Master SiN IP 65.55.208.107

    OK nevermindg on the whole new bot thing... talking to the owner of the site right now... its a joke by the owner of the site... LOL... he renamed most of the google bots to Death Bot Goo b/c theyre always on his site and they stick to it like goo is his site... and Master SiN is the MSN bots... said he gave all those bots vampire like names b/c that is what they are on his site... like vampires tryin to suck the life outta it... LOL...
