    It looks like the second one is not a WordPress site.

    But garywhitehill dot com appears to be a custom wordpress
    theme.

    It looks llike the second one is just html. It looks like they have an html template that they convert to different platforms.

    The first one uses a custom theme and the second one is not wordpress at all...

    Both of the sites have a similar layout. It wouldn't be very difficult so set something up like this in wordpress. I'm sure there are plenty of free and premium themes available on the web.

    I agree with the other poster. It ( the first site ) appears to be custom. Here is a tool to find out the names of the themes
