Hey, I'm trying to find out what is the function of site overlay in google analytics, trying to find the explanation in google, but can really get it, anyone can help? Thanks.
In a nutshell, Site Overlay is a feature that displays your site along with an overlay on top of it that includes information about the things visitors click on in close proximity to the things themselves. For example, if you have a list of links in your sidebar, the overlay might provide the number of times each link was clicked right next to each link.
i think it shows you what % of visitors clicked what. i remember seeing on the top right of the image (for example) .055% of visitors clicked here. or something like that. i used it once and only once.
Site Overlay is a little known but hugely feature in Google Analytics that helps bloggers as well as website owners to understand how visitors interact and navigate their website. It can be very useful in tracking the popular exit areas of your website.
Its very cool, check it out. I was just wondering how accurate the percentages are that you get for each link on your site.
