That is good. Filezilla does the same. Pluse filezilla is completely free. I have never seen a reason to buy an ftp when I can get a great one for free that is updated regularly.
I'll tell you... Cost you 50 cent though what the heck, a freebie I have used smartFTP and works nicely!
There are many good ftp clients out there. I believe that it depends on your host server which will do a better job. Some I have tried don't want to really mesh with my server. Others almost work good. But cuteftp seems to like my server. May have to break down here shortly and buy the program.

For just a few files, Total Commander's built it ftp client. For lots of files, Filezilla with transfer compression enabled and about 5-6 upload threads enabled.
I was using cuteftp around 2 years back, but it crashed a lot, and was giving out weird errors, even after i formatted the machine and installed a new copy.
I've been using Interarchy (formerly Anarchy) for years. The most I upped in one shot was 32GB. It's fast, robust and stable.
