    Hey guys

I am trying to drive more customers to my site and PPC is doing quite well however if I could get my items on google base I think I could quite easily double my traffic and potentially double my sales?

Does anyone know how this works??

For example if 10 stores have the same item and all are registered on google base who gets listed?

    Thanks in advance

I tried list my Cafepress shop on Google Base. I had about 1000 items listed, but I got about 2 visitors from there in one month.

However, I heard that G. Base worked quite well for some other sellers.

Don't expect so much traffic, but if someone comes to your site from Base, he's willing to buy, so you can expect extremely high conversion ratio.

They all do - a lot of searches will bring up lists of exactly the same item - buyers choose on price.

I have been using google base for the last two months and have not seen much from it. I listed 1500 items and get about 1-2 clicks per day and only two sales. The only problem I see with it is that the same products are listed from ebay and ebay sellers are selling it for much cheaper. I would suggest researching your products in google base and see if you can sell the same thing cheaper and list as much information like shipping, and tax in each listing.

I didn't know about this Google Base stuff
Some of the listings have been posted back in 2005 :O and it's in Beta phase all that time??

How does one rank higher up on the listing at Google Base? i know you can select either by relevance or date of posting but is it again, same as normal search results seo/keyword stuff?

    Hey,

As you have listed 1500 items so I'm eager to know how you get listed all those items. Do you enter all items manually and upload a spreadsheet or do you use XML file?

How to get listed 1000+ items at one time? How to create XML file for thousands of your product.

    Please help....

i not get so good visitor from base, but if you go to craiglist with that 10 items, then surely you can get more traffic than google base.
    you may just try this.

Google universal search is using google base data feeds for some product searches. In fact it kicked me from #1 to #2 in the serps. So it's good to be there if you have products for sale.

We use a csv data feed file that is automatically created from our shopping cart software. This then uploads direct to Google base and allows us to upload unlimited products. One of our clients has 2500 products uploaded. With this he gets about 200-300 clicks a day.

However, i am yet to figure out how google decides to order them (by default). Does anyone know? And how does google decide who to feature in the normal google search results? Do you think its to do with the seller rating?
