Anyone know if a good PHP shopping cart script?

Discussion in 'eCommerce' started by volatile, Sep 7, 2006.

I hope I'm posting this in the right section, but does anyone know of a good PHP based shopping cart / eCommerce script out there? I'm already familiar with osCommerce and zen-cart, but I wanted to see what other people use before I go ahead and commit to either one.

    Thanks!

We have used osCommerce on a few sites... Needs lots of customization if you want a unique look and feel.

thanks srik79, avactis looks pretty cool. I think I'll give it a try and see how it looks. On another note, does anyone have a good merchant service for payment processing they can recommend?

You are missing the next big thing since sliced bread...Virtuemart is awesome thing...but it still uses old school php codes...so try it before using it on a live site.

Isn't Joomla more of a content management system (cms) script? rather than ecommerce.

Used to be affiliated with another company (cant remember name), who parted way and now run independantly.

For better scaleability, security and stability you can go for Magento (Only enterprise standard e-commerce platform)

I was prefering cs-cart (which is nopt bad but is expensive), then xcart gold (which is also a bit pricy), and recently started to work with wordpress and ecommerce plugins and this looks like the best thing at this point because wp is free and most of the plugins are either free or not that pricy comparing to well known cart scripts...
