Hi, Anyone know an easy to use software to modify text in pre-made headers for websites (other than Adobe Photoshop)? I just tried Ulead Photoimpact, but I can't figure out how to delete existing text and replace it with new text in headers - anyone know the steps to do this or of another software? Thanks very much.
Well, it would be helpful if you posted a link to the header or something, because there are different solutions for this based on the background of the text. Photoshop would probably be best, but Macromedia Fireworks would probably do just as good. Basically, the idea is usually to paint the background over the text somehow, but there are many tools to do it, and different techniques. Here's a more advance tutuorial I did, but some of the airbrush stuff might work for you: http://www.slickricky.com/projects/beachwoman/
If your budget will not go to photoshop, Try http://www.satoripaint.com/ It used to be freeware but now I think they charge $10 registration on download. It can import psd files and supports layers, which most headers are created in. Select the layer the text is on and simply edit the text ! OR try a free trial download of Corel Paint Shop Pro (used to be by JASC). Gives the same facilities. If you are wanting to edit jpeg's then that is much trickier!! but these two packages should help.
A friend of mine recommended me an oldie that works pretty good for quickness: NeoPaint: http://www.neosoftware.com/npw.html <- updated
