This past week my server has been going down alot. I know the reason. When i emailed host gator they told me that proxy sites can be abused easily and that they take a large amount of bandwidth and resources. Im using phproxy for all my proxies. The guy at host gator said "attempt to recode the php to set specific limits such as allowing x number of connections from one IP and then restricting access after it reaches the limit". Anyone know how to do that with phproxy? - Prilep
what plan are you on Hostgator? If you intend to run reliable proxies..the least you need is a VPS..on high end..dedicated.. but definetly not a standard shared plan.. did Hostgator suspend you current account?
dude you need to start looking for new hosting. Hostgator is horrible once you ask them for support and when they cant figure out how to fix it they tell you to leave. you need to only request help at night- US time since thats when the only guy who knows what he is doing works. I would have to pull up his name. Try westnic.net, much better and they even called me to tell me about a problem.
I have a dedicated server. I have been hosted with hostgator for 2 years now their support is great i get a reply within 30 min. They didn't suspend my account they just told me to do that. - Prilep
