So I signed up for Bings PPC program to take advantage of the media storm before it dies down, but I don't totally understand it. I went to Bing and searched for a term (Lets say "Manhattan homes") and found 3 results that came up in the sponsored results. I refreshed the page a bunch of times to see the other competition and it was always those three (Two of which had nothing to do with Manhattan at all). I figured "Oh, it's just not as competitive as on Google." But then, one out of about 20 times, a bunch of other sites (About 6 new ones) get lumped in the sponsored results all at once. If I don't set a high budget, am I going to be lumped in this reject group? I'm not sure how this works. I know lower paying customers usually come up lower in a list of priority sites, but Bing seems to actually just not show these other ads most of the time, even when there's space for them on the page.
It would make no sense for Bing to have space for ads and ads that pay and not display them. Even a nickel a million times over is a bunch of money. You probably just saw a glitch. Bing is still very new and knowing Microsoft (I worked there for awhile) will have to sort through tons of bugs.
Bing PPC is like Adwords but Adwords is very expensive. Basically Bing PPC is MSN PPC but the keywords are not so much expensive compared to Google Adwords.
They're about the same price actually. My budget ran out at about the same speed as Google's. I'm giving it one more month before I really pass a verdict though. Also, I still get the thing I talked about in the first post where once and a while different ads will come up when I load the page and then never show again.
