Ive heard about them. I think you need to submit an article and you get a free link or something like that. That would take to much time for my liking.
I joined this morning, I'm article heavy right now, so it's not a big deal. MySpace gives me a headache and I'm still figuring out how to put together a Squidoo lens. If I had a list, I'd be telling everyone to go there. This was well laid out, easy to work with and yeah, backlinks good. Plus, the revenue of all adsense blocks running with your "intel" (articles) will come 100% to you. Once they get out of beta, that has the chance to be substantial. So you get to beef up your links, they get content, and you have a chance to dominate a subject and pull adsense revenue. I always got the feeling I came in too late with the other social networks or, that they were out of my age group. This is just about my speed. Like I said, I'm article heavy, so it's nice to see somewhere where you can get "paid*" for writing and reviewing. *Qassia money is not real money. Yeah ... I already joined it about the time when I posted this thread... but I don't know the quality of the backlinks that I am gonna get...
It's very similar to an article directory, and is easy to use. I'm currently dumping all articles I write on it due to its simplicity. Whether or not it's good for PR, though, I don't know.
I hadn't heard of them before this morning. Remember to change your articles enough to avoid the duplicate penaty in Google. What is I like is the back link factor and the fact that your articles have to be voted on by at least 12 people to pass. These can't be the person who referred you or the people you referred. It'll be interesting to see if their page rank is passed to the articles.
