    Hey everyone....!

I'm kinda tired of trying to figure out all the little things I do wrong with SQL 2008 when I use it through MS Visual Studio .Net 2008. So I want to know if anyone out there can recommend a good and preferably free online SQL Server 2008 beginners guide? I don't really care of its condition. I just want it to have many of walk-through examples.

    Thanks in advance.

May everyone have a blessed day as the Lord wills.

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/training/sql-server.aspx

Look at the introduction ebook download. Down the page there is a link to their training catalog which has a ton of free articles.

Is there something specific you need to learn to do? There's 5,000 page books on MSSQL so it's hard to point you to anything specific. What exactly do you need to learn to do with the database, or how are you planning on using it?

    Hey everyone...

All I'm trying to do is to have my Visual Basic .Net 2008 retrieve from a "flat file" (that's no problem), process the data, and store the information back into a SQL Server 2008 file. (However, then commands used for this step in the process should be those used in SQL 2005 to accomplish the same task.)

Then the ASP.Net 2008 app' that I'm designing will retrieve this SQL file via SQL Server 2008 or 2005 (depending on what's available) and display the results on the website.

Now that doesn't sound like much to those of you with the skill and training. But those like me, without anyone to adress about the steps involved, the task work load exponentially increases!

Any help that you can provide is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

May each of you have a blessed day as the Lord wills.
