Anyone know a free graphics program

    Hey I need to find a program that is better then paint but is free to download. I just need to make a simple banner with a word on it but paint doesnt work well. Any help would be nice!

    Adobe Photoshop has a free trial I guess. If you want something for longer then 30 days you can search for "the gimp"

    Gimp is the only totally free graphics software i know. everything else if eith paid or just 30 days trial. i find gimp hard to use though. if you consider swish graphics software then its another good option..

    I can also recomend Paint.NET its free ware and its very powerful and much easier to use copared to GIMP

    For the REALLY adventurous, try downloading a CD image of a CD-bootable version of linux (I am assuming you are a Windows user...possibly a bad assumption). They typically have lots of free graphics programs that do all sorts of things.

    Again, this is an "overkill" solution...just thought I'd toss it out there.

    As for CD-bootable versions of linux, try http://www.knoppix.org. These are referred to as "Live CDs" (because they just boot from the CD without effecting your hard drive).

    Nothing like over-engineering a solution here...

    Gimp if you want a free program, but if you are also considering free trials (they don't last longer than 30 days), go for Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

    gimp is a nice app but it probably isn't the best from a usability standpoint. He just needs an editor with built in text anti-aliasing it seems.

    I would also reccommend a trial, then after the 30 days you'll either be impressed and want to buy or bored and don't want to. I got my Photoshop free with my laptop so I'm lucky I guess :D.

    If you want a free program, why dnt you use the ones that usually comes with,... when u buy mobile phones, digi cams etc etc,

    There's always a image editing/graphic design software which comes with the product and you can use them :)
