I know that using a landing page is generally more effective but is anyone making good money just linking to the offer with YSM?
This is only my third day out, but I had 8 clicks thru my YSM ad in which 2 people converted. I guess a 25% conversion rate ain't bad, but there was such low traffic, that this number may or may not hold up throughout the life of the campaign. I have a .info registered and redirected straight to the offer page. Thing is, I overbid for the keywords and ended up paying more than I made from the conversions, but this is a learning process. I think the trick with YSM, or any other PPC, is to find those long tail keywords with nice search volume but little advertiser competition, thats how people who get 500 clicks at $0.05 a pop do it.
Lol please dont. Direct linking has worked for me on many campaigns. They never seem to last too long though before the income drops a bit.
I sent all traffic through my own domain where a php script redirects. The destination url can be whatever you want... the visitor will never see it anyway. The display url is what's important...
Yeah you can, I do that with all my campaigns since I'm not good at web design, and getting landing pages created would cost me too much at this time. Having a landing page will definately increase your revenue, there's no doubt about that. I just have to wait until my income increases to be able to get them. For now I'm using direct linking. If you have a really good offer and the right keywords + good ad, you should do ok without a landing page. I use this method for testing purposes, if the offer does well with direct linking then with a good landing page conversions should increase.
Just search for "php redirect". There is a tutorial here: http://www.codebeach.com/tutorials/php-redirect.asp
YSM is starting to take action on quality control. Direct linking may work, but once YSM discovers it, it is likely your links will be shut down. just my opinion
I'm doing it and it seems to be working ok.. I talked to my yahoo manager and she had no problem with me directl linking to azoogle and actually encouraged it.
One of my offers is doing pretty well, after I get some income saved up I'm going to work on a website or landing page. I prefer to test out a campaign with direct linking initially since one of my first campaigns I bought a landing page (good design), hosting, domain, etc.. and I made some money, but it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. Actually, I think after all my costs I just broke even. So, I'm going to test out campaigns with direct linking and see how it goes. This doesn't seem to be much of a problem on YSM yet, but on Google anytime I try to do this they disable my ads. It could be since I'm using a different display url than my actual url.
