    hm..interesting thread
I've heard so much about forex in online business forums over the past couple years, but haven't really considered investing...it has always seemed too risky. I may reconsider..

I trade forex, I'm also series 3 licensed and have a website about trading. Forex is a cool market, great volatility and trends. 2 things - nice to have leverage, bu t be careful not to over leverage yourself (thats how 99% of people end up losing), the industry is still unregulated and 200:1 leverage is a bit looney. Careful there are also alot of scams out there - it is NOT easy money, day trading fx takes alot of skill and is particularly hard because of the wide bid ask spreads.

Forex is risky, there is no doubt about that. If wasn't and it was easy money then everyone would be doing it :)

However, as long as you are sensible, read up as much as you can to learn about trading and ensure you make effective use of risk management such as stop-loss then you can make it work for you.

Biggest mistake people tend to make is trying to run before they walk. Practice or Demo accounts are both excellent and down right terrible at the same time. They are great for learning the market before you risk your own cash but too many people fall in to the over-confidence trap and see some profits in their practice account and assume they must be really good at it. It is here when too many people rush in and throw all their cash in and get burnt.

It all comes down to common sense, if you take the time to learn and take care over your trading you can make decent money but you must be prepared to take your time and absorb your knowledge.
