Anyone interested in ASP.NET scripts?

There seems to be lack of cheap / free ASP.NET scripts to do a wide variety of things, and I was wondering why.

Is it because people just aren't interested or that people just don't develop such things?

I was thinking about developing a few that I could do with, such as YouTube integration(to replace the PHP ones running on two of the sites in my sig).

Any one have any suggestions as to common scripts that just arent available in ASP.NET form or are too expensive in ASP.NET form?

Also if you could answer a couple of questions so I can know the target audience a bit

    1) What version of .NET framework do you have available (1.x, 2.x, 3.0, 3.5)
    2) What databases do you have available (None, SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, MySQL, Other)
    3) Can you run full trust code or would it have to be partial (medium) trust?

If we could keep the ASP.NET bashing to a minimum it would be appreciated.

    Jen

    Hi,

There is a lot of snippets available on the net. Most of the time I just write the code I need, with VS it is very easy to generate sites in a short time.

But it is good idea to come up with some scripts that can do certain tasks.

    I using 2.0 and 3.5 .NET
    I am using Mysql

I think in general people are going for the cheap server route (linux) that might be a reason why there is not much demand for it. However in my opinion the development time in ASPX is way shorter than any other language.
