Hello, I'm trying to find out if there is enough interest in the Albuquerque area to start a semi-regular meetup of online earners/web site owners. If you're in/near Albuquerque or know someone who is, please get in touch with me or post here. I'm interested in organizing a monthly meeting in which we can discuss what's working and not working, PPC, SEO, marketing, ideas, etc.
We started the same sort of event in So Cal a few months back (www.wemug.org). Two of us determined to get together and we posted it hear. I searched the forums for others who mentioned meeting and California and contacted them. Any time I saw So Cal in their signature, I'd PM them. Some people just replied to the thread but I'd say 70% were people we contacted through PM or email. I also ran a site targeted ad for aimed at this forum and geographically restricted it. It cost money and some people see it over and over as a paid impression but it might have brought an extra response. Lately, I've been emailing people from business school, my old ColdFusion Users Group, and old co-workers. So get one other person committed, schedule it and make some contacts. Sorry I can't make.
I am in Albuquerque, NM. If we could find some more interested people, maybe we could get something off the ground....
