Is that the mixed martial arts tournament? I've heard about it but I'm not really a fan of it.

Mixed Martial Arts is much safer than boxing and kickboxing. I have no idea why you would think its "more dangerous" than two sports with ten counts. In boxing you will take 100 times as many shots to the head than an MMA fight.

MMA is much safer than boxing and kickboxing.

    100% correct.
People say it's more dangerous because of the blood and whatnot. But the human body was not meant to take hit after hit after hit to the head.
However, UFC is like a natural fight that the body can take and recover from. It's hard to explain, I'm sure some of you know what I'm getting at here...

Definitely...I've tried to make this argument to other people and they just look at me like I'm crazy. I'd rather bleed a bit than get multiple concussions (from repeated blows to the head like in boxing) any day!

I love watching UFC... One of the fighters just drowned in the lake I go to all the time... it was bummer becouse I was at the lake when they were looking for his body... I guess he was trying to pickup a shirt he dropped in the water and fell in.... Surprising becouse the water isn't that cold... my 3 year old was swimming around the shore didn't complain of the water being cold at all...

The way they fight in the UFC, it's the natural way for our bodies to be hit and abused. You know, 2000 years ago when two guys came upon each other in the woods, the fights probably lasted like 5 minutes maybe. First one that got knocked out loses.

Our bodies were not designed to take 100's or 1000's of blows to the head.
One good blow to the head in the UFC and you're done, fights over. And the refs are very good in the UFC. If someone is on the ground and not defending their head, the ref will call the fight. They are really carful about that.

I bet 1500 on Serra last weekend. I didn't think he would actually win, but it was 3:1 odds. I'm now a rich man!
(FYI it was forum points that I bet. on the mma forum I go to lol)

I always preferred Pride also, I was pretty sad about the buyout but I decided some time ago I would look at the positive of the situation.

The rule changes and weight class changes are too much though:mad:
