I know this is a shot in the dark.. but does anyone here use the SMF message boards and use PhPAdsNew? I am having SO much trouble getting the banner code from phpadsnew to work in the templates for SMF. I've been all through their help forums and just can't figure it out. I've posted there for help too.. but those forums really seem to be slow moving (at least the help files I was looking at were). So - anyone out there think they can help me? Anyone want to try? I used it before and I too had a heck of a time making it work, however I got it working. What exactly is the issue.
Well, the main issue is that I can't get the phpAdsnew code into the ANY template on the SMF board. As soon as I try.. I immediately get a parse error. I've been looking on the boards over at the smf community, and it looks like if I'm going to use the phpadsnew javascript invocation code, that I have to change it in some way. I'm not sure. Unfortunatly, I don't know php... heck.. I struggle with html sometimes. What I specifically want to do is have a separate campaign for each board on my forum. And when a new thread is created, the banners would automatically show up as the second post. This way I can target each board topic. I'm not even sure which template I'm supposed to be modifiying. I *think* that it is the board.index.template in smf that needs to have the code put in.. but I've tried the dang code EVERYWHERE! I just keep getting parse errors. Do you think you remember enough about the system that if I e-mailed you the code and the template file you could help me figure out where to put it? I understand if you don't think you can help. I'm just at the end of my rope. UGH. I've NEVER been bested by a problem like this before.. but this answer seems to be elusive. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you could give me. Kat
I've also got parse errors as well...I tried index.template.php, Display.template.php and BoardIndex.template.php.
