My son is 16 and has been playing for a few years, he is definitely gifted. He can pick up an instrument and seems to learn it right away. We sent him to piano lessons for a few years then a little on the guitar, be he just excelled to the point the instructor said he should go learn the rest on his own.

I don't play anything myself, I wouldn't mind learning bass or drums though.

Started playing the piano when I was 5 till my 16th. Then puberty stopped it all. Since then I never touched a piano once again. A bloody shame.

I've been playing the piano for 11 years, the guitar for 12 years, and various other instruments between 9 or less years.

First I learnt playing xylophone at an age of 8 when I was still in grade school. I then started playin the guitar when I reached highschool and right now it's the only instrument I play on my vacant time.

That's awesome you play trombone! At least I'm not the only trombone player here. I vote for a Digital Point Orchestra. Maybe we could hold rehearsals via video conference or by satellite. Anyone ever do a satellite seminar at the movie theater? I see that advertised all the time but I've never actually heard of someone using it. With the huge screen I'll bet that would be a great format for collaborating on a video conference. I don't know about recording actual music though. Might sound choppy.
