Anyone here into lifting weights? - supplement?

I've been lifting weights on off for years now but am starting to take it seriously now. Im currently supplement of 32g protein a day. I used take creatine and might take it again sometimes soon. What I want to know is - is this enough protein a day? (on top of a balanced diet).

    Cheers

i've done extensive research back in the day when i used to religiously lift.
serious bodibuilders will tell you anything from 1.5-2.5g of protein / per pound of body weight

health profesionalls say around 0.5-1 g/pound, cause body can only process so much protein, and the excess protein will be used for energy (and protein farts haha)

look into L-glutamines, apaprently they help stop your body from chowing muscle for energy when exercising or trying to lose weight

As for the correct dosage of protein, Ive read that it can be from 0.5g per pound of body weight to 2g, depending on how much your doing and how big you want the muscles to be.

Me, I'm trying to develop power over muscle mass, so I'm planning on starting with 0.5 and seeing how it goes

Atleast 1g of protien body pound a day. Supplements help. The CEE stuff is good stuff. My Favorite Supplements are My MultiVitaman, Amp, and Omega Thunder. I have some added stuff when I cut weight but nothing special. The real secert is the protien shake right after your workout (called a PWO) and nutrition.

I too recently started lifting again. I paid for the services of a nutritionist at my gym who worked up a diet and has me drinking a protein shake with 36 grams of protein.

I only used the nutritionist to get me going in the write direction. Realized I was becoming a blob and decided to do something about it. So far have lost 15 lbs with 10 more to go.

I am not so much interested in major muscle building, the protein for me is to curb the late night appetite.

Proper nutrition, cardio to help get rid of any fat layer for starters.

Cardio is a must. I do cardio before I lift and on leg day I do cardio before and after my workout.

It depends on what you're trying to do..

When I was cutting I did an hour to 2 hours of cardio a day on the bike, eliptical, stepper, etc.

Now that I'm simply trying to regain my lost bulk I do possibly 20-50 minutes of cardio a week.

If you're trying to get strong and you don't need to lose fat, don't overdo the cardio or it can take your muscle gains away...

I'm currently training without any supplements and although i have stepped down a notch i don't really notice this much in strenght but i did loose some mass.

I have been quite busy with various projects lately and am not as fanatic as i was as 2 years ago but still on the iron but not as regular as i was before.

    Picking up though
I am thinking of taking supplements again as well but here is the thing.

When i was slacking so to speak since i was training every day and different muscle groups and then gradually started to train only 3 times a week.
And then at times only 1 time per week i noticed this creatine supplement i was taking gave me all kinds of rash on my body.

That scared the shit out of me
Has anyone experienced the same thing here? I think the whole skin irritation was the cause of a elevated creatine level in my body that wasn't been used by the exercise that i did before and now all of a sudden it couldn't be used so this was probably the cause.

And now i'm kind of wary of getting into these suplements.
Just wanted to ad this experience and wanted to know if my non-frequent exercise routine was the cause of this?

    What do you guys think?

I've used creatine (though not heavily) and had no adverse reaction at all. Before I started using it I got a friend of mine (chemistry student) to explain to me exactly what it does. Creatine is very safe and is produced in the body naturally. There are many good info sites on creatine. I guess the main thing is not to take the amount it says on the tin (take 3/4)

It is a salt so you should drink a lot of fluid.

Myth: sit us will give you a six pack. Nope, everyone has a six pack (just covered up to different degrees). You need to have no fat for it to show. Get running, walking, swimming, cycling and shagging more!

    Peace out

    @ EDZ..

It could be something in the Creatine, was it a creatine with a transport system built in? More than likely if it was caused by that supplement I'd assume an allergic reaction. That's like any product, some get similiar things from peanuts, others milk, etc.

The only bad thing I've ever gotten from creatine is the famous creatine bloat...

Why I no longer use creatine monohydrate..hate the bloat feeling.
