I just graduated from university with a BS in Business Management, but I'm starting to wish I studied computational finance or financial engineering. I didn't know about such a specific field when I picked my major at 18! Computational economics is a multidisciplinary study which combines economics, applied mathematics/statistics and computer science to create and analyze economic models and manage financial risk. I know that computational economists typically program in C++, so I'm attempting learn it. Is anyone here interested in computational economics? I'd love to pick your brain......thanks!
Well, my background is basically Business Administration, I did BBA, then MBA with Major marketing. I did study Economics, Stats and few more subjects. But I moved to computer science and did MCS. I have very stong C/C++ background. I would be interested in what actually your plan is and why you wish to engage a programmer. Is there any plan of Risk Management appliation you wish to get developed ? regards
Thanks for the response...I'm not currently looking for any specific programming, but I'd like to learn computational economics as an intellectual challenge. Did you know that a good computational economist can make anywhere from $150,000 to over $1,000,000 per year? I don't really want to make a career out of it, but I'd like to see if I can learn this rigorous discipline...
