Hello, I was just curious if anyone here does article marketing only, and how well you are doing? If you don't mind sharing how many articles/day etc.. I have made one sale so far doing article marketing.
Hey Snowing, I don't do strictly article marketing anymore. But for my first 2 months, I did. I was pulling in anywhere from $2k to $2.5k a month doing it that way. My total articles for the month ended up being around 300, so I guess you could say it was 10 a day on average. But after submitting and I did a ton of backlinking and bookmarking and such. Article marketing can be tricky.
Yeah I use mostly article marketing (Ezine Articles and Unique Article Wizard for backlinks). I also make around $2000-$3000 per month.
A few years back, it was much easier. It's still perfectly possible, but you will need to do quantity(to get views from the sites on daily basis) and quality(link building to articles for long term sustainability), if you need money fast. If you don't need money that badly, I would suggest going right for the quality route(building links to rank them) and forget the rat race of the daily submissions. Test various article submission services and note the results. They can be used to build links and get more views from one article, than if you just submitted it at one place. Testing is key; the more you do, the more profitable you'll be.
I have a talent for articles regardless of the fact that I've been into affiliate marketing for a few days now. It's just an easy way of writing for me. That's why I stick to it, but I'm also trying to get into SEO.
I'm doing only article marketing right now (bum marketing). I submitted 70 articles for my new Ebooks and have been backlinking them like crazy. I agree article marketing is tough right now, there is so much competition in every niche you really got to pick a few good keywords and go after those.
Yes, currently i am only doing article-marketing for promoting websites. I can say that, article marketing is the best method to promote. Because it deals with "CONTENT". But it is very important that you write good articles and submit them only to good directories. Just try this marketing for one month and you will be surprised by the results. Good Luck!
I did when I first started, but I found that the conversion rate wasn't that great so I created a site and it increased over ten fold (1:300 to 1:30 or lower). Granted, my hoplink traffic was about halved, but that's still a 5x increase in sales. Fortunately, my traffic is starting to come back up now that my page is ranking for some keywords.
With article marketing you can get the most targetted visitors...but you have to write more to get good amount of traffic...
I find myself intensely curious about something because of the question posted originally by Snowing... And then cyclo394 said... And Dwinter said... And Dalyinx said... And scheng1 said... So my curiosity revolves around... How are you measuring how well you are doing? What would be your best result? Here are some options - feel free to add other results if I didn't mention what it is that you're after For each of the following, I'm wondering what would be a good enough result a not-good enough result an outta-the-ballpark, gonna-brag-in-my-blog and taunt-the-competition result Best Result: Backlinks If this is your preference, then some follow-up questions please: What is your definition of a "good result"? How many backlinks = 'good', 'not good enough' and 'home run'? What system, process, or tool are you using to count/track/monitor the ever-changing number of sites/pages linking back to your site/page? Best Result: Targeted Traffic to your Website? If this is your preference, How do you evaluate the change in traffic? Are you measuring unique visits? If so, how many visits = 'good', 'not good enough' and 'home run'? Are you measuring overall traffic increase as a percentage? If so, what pct chg = 'good', 'not good enough' and 'home run'? How are you measuring that the traffic is "targeted" and not just random visits? Are you tracking changes in targeted value of your visitors? Best Result: Increase pagerank of your site?(Well, individual pages of your site, anyway, since Google ranks pages and not sites.) ~OR~ Best Result: Gain Position on the Google/Yahoo/Bing etc. Search Engine Results Pages? If either or both of these are your preference, then what process are you using to help Google understand that a particular page on your site is especially relevant content? What are you doing to ensure that search visitors are happy when they find your page after they click through from the SERPs for a particular search term? What Search Engine Results Position = 'good', 'not good enough' and 'home run'? Best Result: To Become Known as a Recognized Expert If this is your preference, then how are you measuring your target audience's determination or belief in your expertise? I'm eager to hear your opinions! Chris
Article marketing works if keyword reasearch is done right.. If you don't like to write outsource it..
kb24 said and that's my question... what is the definition of "it works"? what does that mean to you as article marketers? Chris
I rely mostly on article marketing... but there are different types of article marketing. There is the type where you're trying to get traffic directly (such as with EZA articles) and there's the type where you're trying to build up links so that you get more organic search traffic in the long term. I do some of both, but these days I concentrate mostly on the latter.
Have you not read ALL replies to the original post? I spelled out figures that I was making with article marketing alone. That's what "it works" is. And there are people who make a hell of a lot more than that with just article marketing.
For the OP, build a list too with your articles, especially if you are allowed to have 2 links. Give away some free "report". The report can be as simple as a paragraph giving a tip or semi-solution to a problem. Then if they want all the tips, or all the solutions, your $ link, or your site, is in the e-mail. When you're first starting out this can make all the difference in the world, especially in very competitive niches or when your articles are getting few views. You have to make the most out of each pair of eye balls as you can.
When I first started out I pretty much solely did article marketing, then moved onto PPC etc... I think the key is with article marketing is making the most of your articles, make sure that you also build a list or some type of site with the content from the articles that you write. Also make sure you re-use the articles, like re-write them a little and submit to other article directories. If you do this properly you can still make a living from article marketing. The only thing is - until you have enough money to outsource the writing it can be a lot of work! Chris
