I know that January and February are usually lower earning months from AdSense, well at least they always have been for me, however these past 10 days or so have been horrible earnings or me. I notice traffic is down about 15% visitors a day for me, but AdSense earnings have dropped by a lot though. I wonder if its just a seasonal thing and it will pick up by March. So far the 2 days this month are not looking good. Anyone else having lower than normal earnings since 2012 started?
I don't know if it's panda affecting me. My site is still at the very top of Google search engines for any phrases involving it, and it is not overloaded with ads.
Check your stats and if you see some stats breakdown at 19.jan for ex. that´s it. And of course there is a problem with advertisement because google mess everything with panda so now more advertisers place ads only on search. So more money for google and less money for you. Winter is a target season for me. My total traffic, compared with that in December '10/January '11 is same with the one in Dec. '11/Jan12, but earnings are 50-60% lower.... CTR is also lower. Still it variates day by day...
Why did you pick January 19th? Was that a new Panda version roll out date? My stats got really bad starting January 29th. How can you tell for sure it was Panda though? I assumed it was just the same thing that happens to me every Jan and Feb, it was just that these past few days have been very, very low, and if it remains that way I am screwed.
Then its maybe lack of advertiser in this period for you niche. Monitar your stats day by day and compare.
My traffic has remained steady but Jan was my lowest month in quite a while.. However so far February has started with a boom, and is above average.
I am facing this problem for last 3 months getting very low income for my adsense and really disappointed that google is cutting too many bucks in its new report
Panda only hits you if it has reason to. It's helped so many unique blogs shoooot up in rankings. I've heard that revenues are set using the previous month as sort of a backdrop on pricing and payouts, and since december sees a lot of deals for advertisers such as $100 adwords coupons being handed out and bought like hotcakes, and the holiday months are used more to direct shop/doing things and not browsing or get interested in new things, the payouts from those coupons are sure to be lower than expected. Keep adding new and unique content and checking; I really think you can only get an accurate assessment of what's going on and what has happened by April :\ which is obnoxious in my book.
Ive had a large drop too in advertising income, but not in the traffic, the traffic on one particular site has actually increased, and its better quality (as far as reduced bounce rate and increased time on site). Anyway, im just going to keep plugging away.
I haven't noticed any drop, I would say it's more or less the same variations that happen between months earnings..
Web sites and especially the content on those sites is growing faster than Internet advertising. That means more sites and pages are competing for a limited amount of ad revenue.
