I have been trying Amazon Affiliate links on a few sites this month but so far 323 click throughs and no sales. Is this normal or am I just unlucky.

Success with any type of affiliate link requires traffic AND conversion. How targeted is your traffic? Are those clicks coming from a targeted source? How relevant is your affiliate link to the content surrounding it?

to be honest you should have had a sale by now - the big question is, how targeted is your traffic? are you selling big ticket items? i've found these harder to shift.

I have had quite some success with it. I am targeting a specific niche and using a combination of Amazon links and Adsense. You should try it out, it work wonders.

    Best of luck

I had used amazon products on my blogs long back , but it didn't quite work for me. May be I wasn't doing something right . But I know quite a few people online who make a steady income with amazon on Squidoo lenses. So, yes it does work and , as stated by others, the key seems to be target traffic ( visitors interested in your content and products that compliment it ).

Thanks for the info I had been using the self optimizing links and having checked them they dont seem very accurate. I will try hand picking items to suit the web pages.

Just depends on the topic and how good you are actually trying to promote the product. On my MTG site I always advertised cards and accessories (like sleeves and deck boxes) below each post and normally I got a few sales on it. I also had luck ranking well in long-tailed keywords which really helps when your trying to push any Amazon product.

Some times this happens. I think you should target traffic source related to your contents or you should increase the range of you source. I mean work more and target more traffic sources.

Probably depends on which products you're trying to sell/target. Maybe you should look for a digital product from Clickbank to endorse first. These seem to sell quicker than physical products!

I've been trying to sell for a few months. I didn't work hard on it but still had 9 sales (1.12% conversions.)

Now that brought me around $5...don't use this if you're expecting to become rich.

I have only made about $35 from Amazon. I started out telling everyone I knew that when they purchased anything from Amazon, then use my link. I got a couple of commissions around Christmas time, but other than that, no one has purchased anything. I have the ads on both of my sites that get decent traffic, but still nothing. Let me know if you find out a trick to increase the sales. :)

Same forme here, didn't have big sales as an Amazon affiliate yet. But have heard from others that it works.
